At Cycle of Life, our commitment to conservation goes hand-in-hand with supporting the communities who live alongside these wild spaces.
Following our recent fundraising event at Constantia Glen, we are proud to once again support Velakukhanya Primary School in collaboration with Wild Impact.
Located in the KwaNgwenya community near the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Velakukhanya plays a vital role in educating over 560 children from Grade R to Grade 7. As the only primary school in the area, it is an essential foundation for the future of this community .
A Project That Makes a Difference
The school is in need of improved infrastructure, particularly its administration facilities. Together with Wild Impact, we are contributing towards the refurbishment of a new office and admin block- a crucial step in improving the day-to-day running of the school.
This upgrade will support better organisation, communication, and overall school management, ultimately creating a more effective learning environment for both teachers and learners .
In addition, during recent visits by our Cycle of Life clients and Bayala guests, a colour printer was generously donated to the school- a small but meaningful contribution that will support teaching and administration.
Why This Matters
Education is one of the key pillars in building strong communities. Projects like this ensure that children have access to a more supportive and inspiring environment in which to learn and grow.
Through partnerships like this, we continue to connect conservation, community upliftment, and responsible tourism – ensuring that the impact of travel extends far beyond the safari experience.
We look forward to sharing photos and videos as the project progresses and the new facilities take shape.
