Cycle of Life – a letter from AWS

Cycle of Life is proud to have contributed to the emergency rhino dehorning operation at iThala Game Reserve, helping safeguard 47 rhinos from imminent poaching threats. Collaboration saves lives and ensures a future for our wildlife. In turn, we would like to acknowledge the generous support of our sponsors, donors, and clients who helped us raise the necessary funds.

#helpushelpourrhinos

With an imminent poaching threat targeting the rhino population at iThala Game Reserve, immediate action was necessary to protect them. Rhino dehorning has proven to be an effective deterrent against poachers, and in response, an emergency plan was set into motion—a group of organisations came together swiftly to ensure the operation could take place.

YOUR IMPACT

The helicopter is essential in an operation of this scale. Beyond darting rhinos from the air, the pilot guides them to accessible areas, enabling the ground team and vet to reach them quickly. It also plays a crucial role in keeping the team safe by driving away other dangerous wildlife, ensuring the dedicated

conservationists can work without risk.

47 RHINOS DEHORNED

Thanks to The Cycle of Life’s generous contribution, which covered more than half of the helicopter hours, the team successfully dehorned 47 rhinos in just three days.
